Kettlebell Training

Kettlebell Classes in Fort Lauderdale

Kettlebell swings are a powerful tool in building a strong anterior chain (e.g., glutes and hamstrings). The focus of the kettlebell classes will be on the Hardstyle Russian swing as it focuses on the powerful hip hinge (taught by a StrongFirst Level II instructor). This type of swing has been shown in research to improve vertical leap and deadlift strength (a world record deadlifter improved his strength by incorporating swings).

We have a weekly class on Sunday mornings at 9:30AM.

Kettlebell training is a great anaerobic activity. Other kettlebell movements will also be incorporated to build stability and strength in the shoulder, hip, and back. That is, we will focus on the prehabilitation and rehabilitation of the body. Be prepared for a strength workout that builds incredible endurance at the same time. Explosive Power

The kettlebell swing is great for developing explosive power that is beneficial in many movements. Research has shown increases in vertical leap (even in already trained collegiate volleyball players).

StrongFirst Certified Instructors

StrongFirst is the organization created by Pavel Tsatsouline, who brought kettlebells to the U.S. Gui Inacio is a level II instructor and Lindsey Ashby is a Level I.

kettlebell (KB)  is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. As the 1986 Soviet Weightlifting Yearbook put it, “It is hard to find a sport that has deeper  roots in the history of our people than kettlebell lifting.” “Not a single sport develops our muscular strength and bodies as well as kettlebell athletics,” wrote Ludvig Chaplinsky in Russian magazine Hercules in 1913.

Pavel Tsatsouline brought kettlebells to the west in his training of special operation forces.  His vision and courses have single handedly created the resurgence in recent years. The explosion is global. Years past, KB training was kept to elite groups of athletes and paramilitary. Now the same training has begun making its way up mainstream. It is hard work with real results, that’s the secret behind kettlebell training. As Pavel put it, “The one arm snatch is the Tsar of kettlebell lifts, fluid and viscious. It will even humble studly powerlifters.”
